National Geographic Magazine Dec 2012 issue has a centerfold image of the 3,200-year-old Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) "гигантская секвойя" called "The President", from California’s Sierra Nevada (Sequoia National Park), 247 ft (75m) tall. Giant sequoias are the world's largest trees by volume. The centerfold is a mosaic of 126 images. Compare to my photos of the same tree from 2010:

Tallest trees are California Coastal Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) "Секвойя красная". The tallest is 379 feet (115.5 m)
