Civet Coffee is the world's most expensive at $160/lb.
Civet Coffee is the world's most expensive at $160/lb. It is made from the beans of coffee berries which have been eaten by a Civet, which is sorta a tree cat (Feliformia), then passed through its digestive tract. A civet eats the berries for their fleshy pulp. In its stomach, proteolytic enzymes seep into the beans, making shorter peptides and more free amino acids. Passing through a civet's intestines the beans are then defecated, keeping their shape, then collected.

I don't have that kind of money, nor do I have civets around here. So I will feed my cats Lidia and Irene coffee, etc. Shouldn't be a problem because they do eat all sorts of beans and nuts, especially Lidia (see photo below).

My "Two-cat-ta in D-ryer" video was inspired by "Inception" trailer music "Mind Heist" by Zack Hemsey in a convoluted way [1]. The fact that it is his music is relatively little known, because the whole music score for the film (but not the trailer) was written by Hans Zimmer, so everybody assumes the trailer is also his. Just learned that Hans Zimmer actively collaborates with Aleksey Igudesman [2].

Quoting from his web site:

"""
Igudesman writes, arranges and records film music, often collaborating with ... Hans Zimmer. Zimmer has invited him to compose, arrange and play on the soundtrack of the movies The Road to El Dorado, Spanglish, Sherlock Holmes, Jealous of the Birds.

New collaborations with Zimmer are in the works."""

The Festival (2012) 80 min - Documentary - 2012 (Austria)
The Festival (2012) 80 min - Documentary - 2012 (Austria)
Covers the 10th Julian Rachlin & friends music festival.

Julian Rachlin asked his childhood friend Aleksey Igudesman to make a movie about the 10th year of his festival in Dubrovnik. And he got more than what he reckoned for. Or less. We are not sure yet. Anyhow, he got Sebastian Leitner on board and all went downhill from then. Or uphill if you are standing on your head. Look, whatever, just watch the damn thing when it comes out.

Director: Aleksey Igudesman
Writer: Aleksey Igudesman (concept)
Stars: John Malkovich, Roger Moore and Aleksey Igudesman
Producer: Aleksey Igudesman (executive), Julian Rachlin
