My estimates of Iron Dome performance, effectiveness and cost.
My estimates of Iron Dome performance, effectiveness and cost.

During the conflict, Palestinians launched 1,506 missiles. Breakdown by type is unknown. ~500 intercepts were attempted [1], with 421 successful intercepts,  success rate 85-90%. Two interceptors were typically launched per engagement, thus each interceptor has 70% success rate, and costs $30K. Total cost 500*2*$30K =$30M.

Qassam rocket allegedly cost ~$1K,  Grad is ~$100-300 and Fajr-5 cost is unknown to me.

US allocated $900M to Israel 2011-2015 for development and production of Iron Dome.

[1] 142 rockets fell on Gaza itself
