I consider 1960-1970 to be a golden age of aviation.
I consider 1960-1970 to be a golden age of aviation. This is when we saw X-15 (1959-1970), F-108 (1959), XB-70 (1964-1969), SR-71 (1964-1998) etc, brute-force high-speed aircraft made of steel (and sometimes titanium). After that era, it was all about maneuverability and stealth. Bleach. Sure, it wins wars, but not a child's imagination. Think of the children!

Hopefully, we'll see the resurgence of it in private space companies.

I consider 1920-1930 to be the silver age, when all those first non-stop distance flights were made.
