A friend of ours,Igal Gutkin shot and assembled this cool time-lapse sequence of Venus transit. Let's check if everything is OK in the heavens. First we check that the orientation of the Sun is correct, forced by clouds  in the last frame, close to horizon/sunset. We are close to summer solstice, so the ecliptic is tilted 37+24=61 deg to the horizon, and we see that Venus did not veer away from the ecliptic. Good.

Also see Marianna Dizik performing independent verification by eyeballing the heavens during same Venus transit.
