My car just turned 310685.6 mi.
My car just turned 310685.6 mi. So what, you say? In metric it's exactly 500,000 km, or in more sane units 0.5 Gm. Everything on this 1993 Acura Integra is metric, even kilometrage, with the sole exception of wheels, which are 15 inches in diameter.

Anyhow, for this equivalent of a "birthday" for a car, she got:

Oil & filter replaced, valves adjusted, torn spark cables replaced, valve cover gasket replaced, split right axle and C.V. boots replaced, tires rotated, torn front transmission mount replaced, broken and fallen-off power steering pulley and belts replaced, messed-up in the process air conditioner belt replaced. With $25 in taxes, the total is $850.

I only wish people and cats could be repaired this easy.

This can be celebrated by singing "Zabluda in Acura" to the tune of "Saudis in Audis" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqJDuZIcQ34
Anybody knows any good ideas fro the next mileage to look forward to? Candidates:
323 232.3 mi
323 356.8 mi = 13 times around the equator
333 333.3 mi = 1/3 Mmi
345 233.8 mi = 300 000 nautical miles
372 822.7 mi = 600 000 km
372 565 mi = 2 light seconds
383 470 mi = 2 nanoparsec
400 000.0 mi

I don't know any good upcoming astronomical milestones. I am way past Earth-to-Moon, and even way past Earth-Moon-L2-Moon, but very far from Earth-Moon-Earth.
